#6 SHOW OF 2009: YEAH, YEAH, YEAHS at Northern Lights
She has a point, always. It was hot and sweaty in the club and sticky with excitement. I’ve heard so much about these guys and this was the very first time I was in their presence. I had arranged clearance very last minute with the band’s publicist. By the time I got to the pit through the back entrance I was in heaven. Even before they stepped onto the stage the audience was infected with giddy, electric energy. Karen moved around the stage as if it was the most natural thing in the world, making my job easier as I moved fluidly in my own natural space. And the best part? Being covered with red, glittery Y’s that shot into the air right before song 3. I still have one in my wallet for safe keeping to remind me of the glitter and haze of the end of summer.
